Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your password and your signed-in devices secure, and tell us if you think someone else has access.

One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone else or misrepresent your connection to a brand or business.

You keep ownership of the reviews, comments, product requests and images you post. By posting them, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content as part of the service. You can revoke this by deleting the content or your account.

You are telling us that what you post is yours to post, and that it is honest.

Pet Thrifter exists because honest reviews are hard to find. So the central rule is simple: review only products you have actually used.

Specifically, do not:

• post paid, incentivised or otherwise compensated reviews without disclosing it;
• post reviews of your own products, or a competitor’s, while posing as a customer;
• use multiple accounts to inflate or sink a rating;
• post prices or product details you know to be wrong.

Do not post content that is:

• harassing, hateful, threatening, or targeted at someone’s identity;
• illegal, or an infringement of someone else’s intellectual property;
• spam, advertising, or an attempt to drive traffic elsewhere;
• someone else’s personal information, posted without their consent;
• an encouragement of animal cruelty or neglect.

Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorised access to the service.

Volunteer moderators review submitted products and community content. We may edit, hide or remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, when these terms are broken. We try to be fair and to explain ourselves, but we do not guarantee that every piece of content is reviewed before it appears.

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the data deletion instructions.

Content on Pet Thrifter is the opinion of community members. It is not veterinary advice. Talk to a qualified veterinarian about your animal’s health, medication and diet, and never rely on a review here in place of that.

Prices, availability and product details come from community submissions and third-party sources. They go out of date and they can be wrong. Check with the seller before you buy. We do not sell products and we are not a party to any purchase you make elsewhere.

We work to keep Pet Thrifter available and accurate, but we provide it “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or from decisions you make based on content you find here, to the extent the law allows.

We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
