Deleting your data
Last updated: September 16, 2026
You can have your Pet Thrifter account and the data attached to it deleted at any time. Here is exactly how, and what happens after.
Request deletion by email
Send an email to jstarts86@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Pet Thrifter data”, and include:
- your Pet Thrifter username;
- the email address on your account — or, if you signed up with Facebook and never added one, say so and send the request from the address on your Facebook account;
- whether you also want the reviews, comments and product requests you posted publicly to be removed, or left in place without your name attached.
We verify that the request comes from the account owner before acting on it, which is why we ask for those details.
What gets deleted
Once we confirm the request, we permanently delete:
- your account — username, email address, password hash, avatar and bio;
- the identifiers we received from Facebook or Google sign-in, including your Facebook user ID;
- your pet profiles and every date and note stored on them;
- your reviews, comments and product requests, if you asked for those to go as well.
We complete deletion requests within 30 days and email you when it is done. Short-lived operational server logs age out on their own schedule.
If you signed in with Facebook
You can also disconnect Pet Thrifter from Facebook directly, which stops any further data being shared with us:
- On Facebook, open Settings & Privacy → Settings.
- Go to Apps and Websites.
- Find Pet Thrifter in the list and choose Remove.
Removing the app stops future sharing, but it does not by itself delete what we have already stored. To have that deleted too, send the email request above.
Deleting less than everything
If you only want to change some of your data, you may not need a deletion request at all — you can edit your profile, and add or remove pets, from your profile page while signed in. Email us if you want a single review or comment removed.
